The contrasts of the Dominican Republic are many. The Dominican Republic has both the highest and lowest points in the Caribbean. There is also a stark contrast between city life in La Capital also known as Santo Domingo. A few short miles from the capital city, there is another pace of life. Slow and laid back as opposed to the busy city pace in Santo Domingo.
Santo Domingo is like New York or Toronto, a hodge-podge of cultures in the city. These cultures provide the city with a vibrant tendency that permeates the city.
Aside from the people, this country is one of the first New World countries that were first discovered back in the days of Christopher Columbus.
