How to create a website tonight

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

I mention http://www.publish247.com as a good starting point.

Hey guys, fred here with an insight on how easy it is to create your own website. i have like a dozen websites and have been doing it for 10 years, so friends are always asking me how I got started.

Truth be told, creating your own website is much easier than you think

there are really only 2 simple steps to making your own place on the web.

the first is to come up with your own domain name
a domain name will be your website address, you know that address that starts with www,
examples of domain names are youtube.com, google.com - or it can end with .net, .info etc. The key is finding a domain name that’s still available
you can see what domain names are availlable, as many are already taken.

One place that lets you search for available domain names, and even gives free suggestions, is publish247.com. I tell all my friends to start there as you can easily search for available names and then register your own for around $8/year. that comes out to around 65 cents per month. not bad for your very own name on the internet.

The key is not to delay registering your domain name, as thousands are registered daily and you don’t want someone else to register your name first.

to search for your name at publish247, type www.publish247.com into your address bar (that’s where it says youtube.com right now) - then when the website loads, either click the domains link in the upper left, or scroll down and begin your search where it says “Enter a Domain Name”

The second step is to find a website host - this is where you will build the actual website - as well as add other featuress like email addresses, a blog or even setup a shopping cart if you need one.

This may sound complicated, but it’s really not. The best hosting companies make creating a website as easy as typing in a desciption and clicking a few buttons. In fact, while your surfing for a good domain name over at Publish247.com, check out their “Website Tonight” service, this enables anyone to publish their own website, even if they are technically clueless, like many of my friends.

Plus publish247 rocks because their prices are cheap yet they have 24/7 support if you should ever need it.

That’s it! You’re on your way to beiung a website owner - your own home or business on the web - in 2 easy steps. good luck, and check back later for more web secrets to success

Stephenie Meyer The Host interview

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Stephenie Meyer, creator of the phenomenal teen-vamp Twilight series, takes paranormal romance into alien territory in her first adult novel. Those wary of sci-fi or teen angst will be pleasantly surprised by this mature and imaginative thriller, propelled by equal parts action and emotion. A species of altruistic parasites has peacefully umed control of the minds and bodies of most humans, but feisty Melanie Stryder won’t surrender her mind to the alien soul called Wanderer. Overwhelmed by Melanie’s memories of fellow resistor Jared, Wanderer yields to her body’s longing and sets off into the desert to find him. Likely the first love triangle involving just two bodies, it’s unabashedly romantic, and the characters (human and alien) genuinely endearing. Readers intrigued by this familiar-yet-alien world will gleefully note that the story’s end leaves the door open for a sequel–or another series.

The author of the Twilight series of # 1 bestsellers delivers her brilliant first novel for adults: a gripping story of love and betrayal in a future with the fate of humanity at stake.

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.

Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Melanie fills Wanderer’s thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she’s never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring a vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.

Top 10 Best Web Hosting Reviews - SCAMS EXPOSED

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Are “HOST REVIEW” sites honest? Are they unbiased, impartial, and factual… or are they just after your money? How does a hosting company get on the “top 10″ list?

Amazingly most hosting reviews websites have one thing in common: They are getting paid by hosting companies for reviews (either directly in the form of advertising or indirectly via affiliate commissions) — making their reviews extremely biased, one-sided, and highly questionable in terms of accuracy. They all promote the same group of companies.

The reason that the same hosting companies always make it to the “top” of the hosting comparison charts is because those companies, one way or another, pay to be listed there. These hosts include Host Monster, Blue Host, Lunar Pages, IX Webhosting, InMotionHosting, StartLogic, Host Pappa, Pow Web, etc.

It’s a well-known fact web hosting companies running their affiliate programs through Commission Junction offer among the highest affiliate commissions in the hosting industry. Thus “clever” PPC (pay per click) affiliate marketers decided: why not create websites with “top web hosting companies” lists and list these companies as “top”?

Hosting company reviews seldom base their “rating” on their quality of service (although many claim to). Instead, most of them rate a webhost on the *size* of the affiliate commission. Those web hosts offering the highest commissions usually get the top spots — because those hosting companies pay the most money.

So the next time you’re looking for the best web hosting company (and you undoubtedly come across a “reviews” site), STOP AND THINK: What’s their true objective? Are they providing you with impartial, unprejudiced facts? Or are they simply selling you a bill of goods, deceptively packaged in a “Top-10″ list bought and paid for in the Twilight Zone? Visit HOSTING-REVIEWS-EXPOSED.COM for more information.
