what do i need once i have register a domain?
I have a domain registered, I would like to publish a website, what settings do I need on my server to accomplish this? I will create a website using dreamweaver 8. The server is running windows 2000 server.

You will need a web site host,look at Yahoo or go to internet and type in website hosting in search box this will bring up a multitude of website hosting sites to look at.I am using Yahoo small bussiness and its price is good and have had no major problems.

In order to public a web you need to register a domain (yourdomain.com). A domain name is is legal name you own. But you need to buy a place (web hosting) to host your web. The web hosting company usually do this both for you. Once you have an account on a web hosting, you can create a website and upload that website to your web hosting. Then people will see your web site.

all you really need is your username, password and host name (ip address or domain name) to the ftp site. You plug the username, password and host name into dreamweaver and when you are ready to upload your site, dreamweaver will do the publishing.
