I’d buy a web hosting reseller account from somewhere like http://customer.heartinternet.co.uk/aff.cgi?entry=slZnLHB0ic0VpvBbKUBcYw and then you ’sell’ each client their hosting. For domain registration, use http://www.123-reg.co.uk/ where you set up your master billing account and then register the domains in the name of the client - but 123 bill you, then you bill the client.

That way, you can make a small ongoing profit from yearly hosting renewals.

You should give the client full access to their hosting account and any files you’ve created for them. The idea of making them pay again for files is very outdated and a throwback to the old print design world.

The 2 basic options are:

Get a multiple hosting account (try uk2.net - 10 websites about £55);
Get a reseller account. Sklightly more expensive but you can offer your clients cPanel access to maintain their sites.

If you want to keep the costs low you could keep them all under the same account (it’s the option some hosts offer called unlimited domain hosting) and just buy the additional domains. Websites will be completely separated, but you will manage them all from the single account (and pay for just one hosting account).

P.S. If you want to let them manage their own site you have to get reseller hosting, but if you’re gonna do that for them any of these plans will do.

1) I give my clients options (and show them how to find more by themselves), then let them buy their own domain name and web host. I create sites, I don’t sell hosting or names.

2) Part of the deliverables of a web site are the pages - all the files, html, php, etc. I deliver, they pay. That ends the contract, unless they buy updating or maintenance.

You’ll need to find a web host that will sell you a Reseller’s Account. From there, you can make a new account for each of your clients. Most web hosts will also be able to help you with registering the domain names or guide you through anything else you need.

Get the hosts under different accounts and keep a copy of each password this way you can block the site if you are not paid and the other companies can’t get on eachothers sites. Give them the code and access to the domain once you have been paid fully then if you continue to work with them you can block there site if they fail to pay you.

keep them all seperate, this goes for hosting companies then once you have the sites running you can create links between then to boot the sites importance in the eyes of the search engines, any content you upload onto your sites remains your property and no one can use it without your permission, you dont just give them the information, you upload it yourself to the webspace they provide.
