where can i find the cheapest domain name?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

godaddy.com requires you to get another package with a domain registration. Yahoo sells domain names pretty cheap the first year, after that it shoots up to an annual rate of $34.95.

Who has the cheapest domain name registration, and is very reliable as well?

Hello Carmen,

.COM domains are $9.99 all over the internet, regardless of the provider you choose.

Some providers offer discount coupons. Google for "Provider Coupons".

Yahoo does not give the kind of flexibility and technology on the long run. I wouldn’t recommend them.

If you are going with GoDaddy, choose your domain and SKIP all the follow up sales and suggestions before you purchase. It will only cost you $9.99.

I used to use GoDaddy to buy domains earlier. Now, I use NameCheap to buy domains because of their Terms of Service. Their TOS are far better then GoDaddy when it comes to handling spam complaints.

Lets say you have a product website, and there are hundreds or thousands of partners promoting it for you. A few of them use bad promotional techniques which could send a complaint about your Domain, to the Domain Registrar. At these instances NameCheap have better TOS than GoDaddy.

If you are going with GoDaddy for Domain Registration, pick up the Web Hosting package with them too.

If you are NOT going with GoDaddy for Domain Registration, HostGator is a good low cost option for Web Hosting. They support all technologies, can scale up to what ever traffic you are expecting, and have excellent 24/7 phone and email support.

Almost forgot, you could also host multiple Domain Names on a single hosting package.

What does this mean?

Let’s say you buy 2 or 3 new domain names in the future. At this point you will NOT need to purchase additional Web Hosting space. The existing Hostgator "baby plan" can be used for the 3 domains at NO additional cost.

This will save you lots of money on the long run. Read about the hostgator "Baby" package just incase you’re interested.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day!

GoDaddy Coupon Codes

Go Daddy offers a service called auto renew. This service automatically renews your domain name with your stored credit card number. This service is great and keeps you from loosing a domain name that expires because you forgot to manually renew it.

However, with auto renew, you do not get to take advantage of any of the discount specials that GoDaddy offers from time to time. Currently with auto renew, you are charged $9.95 per domain. However, if you manually renew using your GoDaddy online coupon “OYH3″ you will save yourself $3.00 per domain! I know that doesn’t sound like much but imagine if you are an internet marketer like myself that has over 20+ domains. That over $60.00 in savings! Now does it seem like chump change?!!

Here are a list of coupons you can use to save some money. Try to use them as soon as possible as I am not sure when they will expire

OYH3 - $3 off / $6.95 any .COM (renewals too… just used it)

OYH1 - 10% off whatever

BTPS7 - 20% any order of $50 or more

BTPS4 - 10% off anything

OYH2 - $5 off a $30 purchase

chill1 - 10% off

chill2 - $5 off $30

chill3 - $6.95 .coms

hash1 - 10% off

What domain registar would you recommend?

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Hi all!

I am trying to register a domain name, but not sure where to register it? I found a couple of really cheap ones which I think are really good value, but not sure which is better at service and if they provide free DOMAIN NAME PRIVACY on the WHOIS website???

Here are the ones I’m considering:

1. GoDaddy.com - $6.95/year and they’re offering loads of other free stuff as well but I’m not sure how much they charge for private domain registration as I didn’t see it mentioned on their website…

2. Netfirms.com - $4.95/year plus free email and free domain name privacy on WHOIS website but not sure if their service is good and the cheap price is a bit suspicious…don’t know

3. FXdomains.com - $7.85/year and they’re also offering loads of free stuff with it just like GoDaddy are but they’re $0.90 more expensive than GoDaddy, plus they’ve got sale for private domain registration for $1.95/year but I’m not sure if this will go up on your second year as it’s sale now.

Please tell me if you know any other good registars that are good value like these ones and why you would you recommend it? Or maybe is GoDaddy good enough and I’m being too choosy? I would very much like to know your opinion on this.

Thank you very much!

I’ve been registering domanins since 5 years now. goDaddy.com has no competion ! Go with them without any doubt.

Domain name registration. ?

Friday, August 28th, 2009

I want to change the company through which my domain is registered. I am currently paying U$35,00, which I am told is quite a high price. My registration expires on 15th of January 2009 and I don’t want to lose the domain as it is a commercial site. Is it possible to register with a different company and if so, how do I do it?
Also, suggestions of cheaper companies to register with would be welcome.
Thanks

"Transfer" your domain name to a different registrar.
Do it at least a week before expiration to be safe. Generally only takes 3-5 days but depends on current registrar.

Select your new registrar. Suggestions: DomainSite.com, DynaDot.com, GoDaddy.com

All of the suggested registrars have a menu selection to "Transfer" your name to them.
You pay your new (lower) registration fee and the new registrar initiates the transfer. The administrative contact for your domain name (hopefully that’s you) will receive an email to confirm OK to transfer to the new registrar. You approve and within a few days you get notified that transfer is complete.
All settings for DNS, etc. are transferred with domain name so there is no interuption in service for your site.

Easy.
