Nevertheless, if you follow these hints, you ought to be able to reduce your vehicle’s fuel usage, save money and do your bit to help the environment.

- If your car carries a roof rack, bike rack or roof box, make sure that you remove it when it is not in use. This will improve your vehicle’s aerodynamics and fuel economy, as will shutting your windows and sunroof.

- Observe the speed limit and drive as efficiently as you are able to, avoiding heavy braking and sharp acceleration. Not only will this reduce wear and tear on your vehicle, but it could save you up to 30% on your gasoline costs.

Good Will Car Donations - Benefits For You

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Whether or not it’s tax time, you can benefit from donating your old car to a charity. True, most people make their vehicle donation towards the end of a tax year in the hopes they’ll get a tax break…

But there are good reasons to give up your clunker for a good cause at any time of year:

For one, a good will car donation makes you FEEL good - gives you the satisfaction of knowing you did something good for a charity. And realize that vehicle donation charities do a good job of keeping freebie-seekers from getting old cars; only bona fide hard-luck cases actually get something for ‘free.’

Possible benefit number two: You give yourself back the parking space or driveway space that the old car was hogging.

Possible benefit number three: Depending on the condition of your donated car, you improve the neighborhood - if not your property.

Possible benefit number four: You can use this act of kindness to ethically bribe your ’significant other’ into letting you get the car or truck you want - whether it’s a new one or a cool used one you’ve had your eye on. This works really well if you don’t tell her (or him) about your intentions to get the ‘new’ car until you are well into the donation process - if not AFTER you’ve donated your old car.

Possible benefit number five: You gain back free time that you were spending working on the old rattle trap!

New Motorbikes Perfection

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

My wife and I have a large motor home that we take on road trips with us, but it’s too expensive to drive around town when we are on vacation. We wanted to buy something else to drive and that could be pulled behind the motor home, and it occurred to us that we could look at some New Motorbikes. We found one we liked, and it was just perfect for the two of us. I bought it, and then we bought a trailer to tow it on. Now we have a fun way to get around that is also fuel-efficient, and we are having a great time.
