does it matter what company you buy your domain from? I would think the cheaper the better right?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

in other words, all I want is the domain name, not any services- so the cheaper the better correct? as long as they are a legitimate company?

If you are going to register a domain then the best way to register a domain for free is to purchase your domain and webhosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some webhosting companies offer this as a gift . I am using bluehost webhosting for mine

What (in your oppinion) is the best domain name registering service and why?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

1&1 Internet Ltd - http://www.1and1.com / http://www.1and1.co.uk because they also have some of the best webservers in the world to host the website to go with the domain name + good value for money hosting services.

+ they don’t get used by spammers or f*** you around when you complain about spammers like when I try to complain to either "estdomains.com" or "layeredtech.com" when their users (and it’s nearly always their ****ing users) who spam my website’s guestbooks & messageboard.

how can i understand the exact expire date of my Domain name?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

can i be sure that at this date my domain will expire?
in whois.com this text was displayed:
NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record is the date the registrar’s sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is currently set to expire. This date does not necessarily reflect the expiration date of the domain name registrant’s agreement with the sponsoring registrar. Users may consult the sponsoring registrar’s Whois database to view the registrar’s reported date of expiration for this registration.

Well it means that they(whois) get an expire date from the provider, but it can change. if the day of expire comes they still can extend it.

what are the cheapest sites to register a domain name?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

I would recommend registering with JordanSoft, http://www.JordanSoft.com; it is a Wild West Domain reseller similar to GoDaddy. This reseller is cheaper than GoDaddy for most of the same products. Buying from http://www.JordanSoft.com or GoDaddy makes no difference in service, but you can compare prices to save you a few bucks.

For Domain Name registration:

.COM: $9.99/year on GoDaddy, $7.99/year on http://www.JordanSoft.com

.NET: $12.99/year on GoDaddy, $6.49/year on http://www.JordanSoft.com

.ORG: $14.99/year on GoDaddy, $7.99/year on http://www.JordanSoft.com

And you will have everything you need to get started online for free, you get the following with every domain:

. Free Personalized E-Mail Account: Free Fraud, spam and virus protected email that includes 1 GB of total storage

. Free Ad-Supported Hosting: Reliable and backed by 24/7 support, includes 10 GB of Disk Space, 150 GB of Transfer, Windows or Linux, FTP Access, and much more.

. Total DNS Control

. Free Forwarding/Masking

. Free Photo Album

. Free Blog

Where can I get Tips on hosting a Clothes Party From home?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

I am hosting a clothes party in less than 3 weeks time, im finding it difficult in getting any tips advice/ideas on hosting such an event. It will be from my House and have so far invited a few friends and plan on inviting some people from the school. Any help would be much appretiated.
Im selling Mainly kids clothes (New) and may also have a few tables of used items too.

(Practical advice need only reply)

Thanks

Well, like most parties, you should make sure you have enough food and drinks for the guests.
Plus, being a clothes party, you need to make sure there’s a "changing room" and a mirror available (preferably full length). You could borrow a mirror from someone if you only have small mirrors in your house.
It’s also important that you have plenty of seating, where the guests can see the clothes so no one has to crane their necks to see, or miss out on seeing the clothes.
Also having plenty of pens on hand as well as something to lean, for when the guests are filling out their order forms is handy (if applicable).
Hopefully this helps you a bit!
Don’t stress though, I’m sure it’ll go smoothly.

How I start my business with my own web hosting?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

I want start a corporation and I hope can use my own web hosting. Like google, yahoo, amazon.com and ebay, are they using their own web hosting? I really dont have any knowledge, Please tell me.

I’m a little confused about your situation… Do you have your own website? Are you trying to resell things? (put in details?)

I probably have the answer for you, I just don’t understand your question.

If you’re talking about web hosting services, I don’t think google, yahoo, amazon, or ebay are web hosting services. You won’t get a website from them. You’ll have to look on the internet for a package that is right for you (how much disk space you want, bandwidth, features, etc.

how can i go up a level in javascript?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

I have a website that was written by someone else, i am using it to build a new page and the owner wants to keep most of the functionality. One of the functions is a slideshow, it is located in the folder "/domainname/resources/designcenter/slideshow/index.html" the file I am working with is in "domainname/info/about/about_us.html" the java script is

href="javascript:;"

onClick="MM_openBrWindow(’/resources/designcenter/slideshow/index.html’,”,’width=420,height=500′)

How do I get the commmand to go to the correct folder? I have tried the HTML version that I know (../../) but that isnt working.

Thanks

I am a little bit confused, so here’s two answers:

1- If the pathways you typed are totally correct, and there is a folder ‘domainname’ then the MM_openBrWindow function must be adding a string, ‘/domainname’, to the ‘/res..’ string that is being passed in. You could take that out of the function and then pass ‘/domainname/res..’ to achieve the same result.

2- If the ‘/’ was a typo in the first pathway you typed, then the solution should be simple. ‘resources’ and ‘info’ are at the same level, so you don’t need to travel up any folders. You should be able to go to the correct folder simply by typing ‘/info…’

where do I go to get the cheapest price to buy a domain?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Godaddy is the worlds biggest domain registrar.

The price of a .com domain is usually $9.99 but you can get it for $7.49 if you use the link at the bottom of this page http://www.hosttell.com

P.S. If you want to create a website you also have to buy web hosting.

What are the parameters (if any) for registering a domain name as a ".info"?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

For example, I know that to register as a ".gov" you have to be a government agency.

Hey Comet girl!

I was taught by my mentor, a top internet marketer, that the dot coms have the most juice with google listings.
Some marketers use www.domaininfoDOTcom as an idea.
